Cat Leap

Cat Leap

Just outside Askrigg is another small, easy to reach waterfall. Coming from Carperby towards Askrigg, as you drop downhill, take the left hand turn to Worton (Sign posted Worton 3/4) continue down this narrow lane (Low Gate) for approx 400m and take the first left hand turn into Thwaite Holme Lane. Continue to the end passing over a small bridge, Park at the remains of the old railway line. Walk back toward the small bridge. You then have an option depending on which side of the falls you prefer (Unless you want to "Paddle!") Go through the gate(s) either side of the bridge and follow the stream for 300m (approx) until you reach the falls. This is private land, so ask permission!
Location

When I first arrived I was met with (what I thought was) a dry stream bed!
View back to the bridge
A pleasant surprise!
