Nidd Falls
On the way to Scar House Reservoir just north of the small hamlet of Lofthouse, nr Pateley Bridge is the delightful falls called locally as Nidd Falls. Although they are marked on the O/S maps there are not actually named.
You have the option of parking at the Memorial Hall or following the road up to the reservoir and parking at the side of the Fire Station but please DO NOT BLOCK THE DOORS!
From the Memorial Hall walk north toward the War memorial fountain and turn left between the 2 blocks of houses. A footpath will take you down to a small bridge and a cascade of small falls. it is easy to get down below the bridge behind the Fire Station.
For the main falls it is necessary to proceed another 200 meters up the road, it can be seen from the road on the right.
