Beldon Beck & Nelly Force

 Beldon Beck & Nelly Force

Not to be confused with it's counterpart - Nelly Ayre Foss nr Goathland, Nelly Force is not far from Castle Bolton, (or is it Bolton Castle?) I would consider it an "Untidy" falls, having a drop of approx 3m the base of which is strewn by old debris, rocks and tree trunks. It is possible to get to the base but there are not a lot of features to keep the photographer interested (I will apologise if anyone can disprove me LOL) The nearest place to access this is on the road leading North out of Redmire, Hargill Lane. See Map.

For Beldon Beck, Park in the car park at the Castle. Take the lane that leads West, away from the castle, Go through the 5 bar gate and look for the worn path that heads down the hill follow this down hill Follow this across several fields. It is marked by interspersed posts.
At the bottom there is a narrow footbridge crossing the beck. Turn right and follow the beck upstream. It is possible to cross the stream in several places

    1. The viewing place for Redmire is on the opposite side of the river, but could be done in a day. There is also another nr Castle Bolton, on Beldon Beck, which I have not yet been to.
